Do you have an endowment mortgage problem?
The Government has, through
its financial services regulator, the Financial Services Authority (FSA), now officially
recognised that the mis-selling of endowments in order to repay mortgages is so
widespread that it can be classed as a scandal. Most of the present generation
of endowments are likely to fail to repay the full target amount. According to the
latest Government report of the 8.5 million endowment policies still in force,
around 80% are in danger of falling short of the sum required to pay off the
policyholder's mortgage with the average shortfall being £5500 - and it has
warned the problem is likely to get worse rather than better.
To determine if you received
bad advice when you purchased your endowment policy ask yourself the following
questions. If you feel any of these issues relate to you then simply complete the
contact form at the bottom of this page and you will be contacted by an adviser.
Do
you believe your endowment policy was appropriate to your needs
at the time of sale?
Were
all the risks associated with your endowment policy fully discussed
with you by your advisor at the time of sale?
Did
the advisor discuss with you both the repayment and endowment method
to repay your mortgage loan?
Did
your advisor promise you that the full sum assured of your endowment
policy was guaranteed to be fully paid at maturity?
Does
the endowment term stretch beyond your retirement age and was this
discussed with you at the time of sale?
Did
the advisor promise you an additional surplus lump sum at the end
of the endowment term?
